Struggling With Postpartum Resentment? 3 Ways to Feel Like a Team and Rebuild Family Connection

Posted February 6, 2026

Have you ever sat wide awake at 2:00 AM feeling a seething rage while your partner sleeps peacefully and you are still waiting for a chance to shower? This heavy sense of postpartum resentment is a sign that you are carrying the mental load and emotional labor entirely on your own.

It is common to feel like an exhausted mama when the invisible load of the household leaves you feeling alone in these motherhood struggles. You deserve to be heard, and this episode is the first step toward finally getting the support you need.

The shift is moving from thinking you are just an angry person to seeing that resentment is a normal response to stress. These heavy feelings are secretly telling you that you have unmet needs. This does not mean your marriage is broken, but it is a call for a better family connection. You can leave this lonely place by learning how to ask for a lifeline during your postpartum recovery.

Today we are covering tangible ways to change the climate of your home:

  • New parent tips for sharing the invisible labor and daily responsibilities

  • Healthy communication steps to address relationship stress without a fight

  • Structural change ideas to get marriage support and more rest for yourself

We will talk about the relationship tools you need to end the cycle of self-neglect. You will learn why ignoring these parenting challenges harms your home and how to get back on the same team with your partner.

My goal is for you to leave with a clear plan to get your needs met and find the actual relief you deserve.

To being heard and seen,

Evie

What the Podcast is all about...

You’ve prepared for your family in so many ways- the supplies, the toys, etc, and despite the fact that you’re doing all the things expected of you, you’re not enjoying enough of the loving connection you hoped for during this special time in your family.

Mom, I’m here to tell you that transitioning to parenthood sets relationships up to struggle. You aren’t alone!

The problem is that most resources for Moms don't address the power of healing family relationships. They don’t address how Moms and families can achieve relief much faster by improving connection.

My podcast is going to change that!

Our kids need more than diapers and toys. Moms need more than individual survival tips. When couple relationships & family relationships improve, Moms (and everyone) enjoy more connection, more love, more support. That’s the kind of family dynamic we want to welcome our babies into.

Marriage after baby is hard and marriage problems after baby are the norm. I’ve seen too many couples and families regret how much they fought and how lonely they felt, during what could have been a joyous time of bonding.

Research and my clinical experience clearly shows that the healthier relationships are, the less anxiety, depression, & struggles parents and children experience.

Having a baby is a FAMILY matter, not an individual matter.

After helping countless moms, couples, and families start deeply connecting, I’ve learned what patterns hurt relationships and what makes things better.

And I’m going to share my knowledge with you!

Welcome to the Bonds after Baby podcast.

So grab your headphones and join me here- it’s time for you to enjoy more connection and less conflict during this special time in your family’s life.
